Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index records a surge of 4.14%

Nifty Energy index ended up 4.14% at 13828.15 today. The index has lost 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd jumped 8.54%, Reliance Industries Ltd gained 5.77% and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd rose 5.76%. The Nifty Energy index has increased 3.00% over last one year compared to the 3.69% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 3.21% and Nifty Metal index is down 3.05% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.31% to close at 10348.05 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.28% to close at 34474.38 today.
