Quick Wrap: Nifty Financial Services Index rises 2.57%

Nifty Financial Services index closed up 2.57% at 9727 today. The index is up 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd added 7.23%, Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd rose 5.63% and Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd jumped 5.63%. The Nifty Financial Services index is down 21.00% over last one year compared to the 19.37% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index added 2.47% and Nifty Bank index gained 2.19% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.71% to close at 9270.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.74% to close at 31685.75 today.
