Quick Wrap: Nifty Infrastructure Index rises 2.75%

Nifty Infrastructure index closed up 2.75% at 3177.25 today. The index is up 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Larsen & Toubro Ltd gained 6.74%, GMR Infrastructure Ltd rose 4.97% and Idea Cellular Ltd added 4.91%. The Nifty Infrastructure index is down 4.00% over last one year compared to the 17.43% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 2.50% and Nifty PSU Bank index gained 1.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.71% to close at 11551.75 while the SENSEX added 0.87% to close at 38278.75 today.
