Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index declines 3.58%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.23%

Nifty Media index ended down 3.58% at 1707.85 today. The index is down 8.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd shed 5.84%, Sun TV Network Ltd dropped 4.57% and Dish TV India Ltd fell 3.94%. The Nifty Media index is down 31.00% over last one year compared to the 5.43% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index is down 2.40% and Nifty Private Bank index is down 2.20% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.23% to close at 11174.75 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.14% to close at 37673.31 today.
