Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index declines 4.53%

Nifty Media index ended down 4.53% at 1793.85 today. The index is up 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Sun TV Network Ltd slipped 11.16%, Dish TV India Ltd shed 10.00% and Zee Media Corporation Ltd added 4.96%. The Nifty Media index is down 26.00% over last one year compared to the 11.89% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index is down 3.14% and Nifty Metal index has dropped 2.05% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.61% to close at 11840.45 while the SENSEX is down 0.57% to close at 40116.06 today.
