Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index falls 3.38%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.23%

Nifty Media index ended down 3.38% at 1807.5 today. The index has slipped 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jagran Prakashan Ltd shed 14.33%, Dish TV India Ltd dropped 6.90% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd fell 5.91%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 37.00% over last one year compared to the 4.39% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has dropped 2.72% and Nifty Bank index is down 1.97% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.23% to close at 10862.6 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.13% to close at 36699.84 today.
