Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 1.63%

Nifty Media index closed up 1.63% at 1827.45 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Inox Leisure Ltd added 5.77%, Sun TV Network Ltd gained 4.88% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 3.86%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 19.00% over last one year compared to the 11.20% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index gained 1.38% and Nifty Metal index added 0.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.63% to close at 12107.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.58% to close at 41216.14 today.
