Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 2.63%

Nifty Media index closed up 2.63% at 1106.95 today. The index has slipped 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Balaji Telefilms Ltd added 10.37%, PVR Ltd jumped 8.15% and Saregama India Ltd slipped 7.17%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 55.00% over last one year compared to the 23.71% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index gained 2.19% and Nifty PSE index added 1.98% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.76% to close at 8992.8 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.73% to close at 30602.61 today.
