Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 5.49%, NIFTY jumps 1.88%

Nifty Media index closed up 5.49% at 1884.35 today. The index has slipped 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd added 10.43%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd jumped 6.18% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd rose 5.77%. The Nifty Media index has soared 1.00% over last one year compared to the 0.68% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 4.06% and Nifty Metal index increased 3.97% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.88% to close at 15638.8 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.81% to close at 52532.07 today.
