Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 1.44%

Nifty Media index ended up 1.44% at 1863.5 today. The index has added 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jagran Prakashan Ltd jumped 5.41%, Sun TV Network Ltd gained 3.92% and Saregama India Ltd rose 3.52%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 25.00% over last one year compared to the 13.45% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has slid 1.25% and Nifty Realty index increased 0.90% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.10% to close at 12355.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.14% to close at 41932.56 today.
