Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 1.86%

Nifty Media index ended up 1.86% at 1845.9 today. The index has lost 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TV18 Broadcast Ltd jumped 15.37%, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd gained 4.87% and Balaji Telefilms Ltd rose 3.17%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 21.00% over last one year compared to the 12.70% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has slid 1.18% and Nifty Auto index is down 1.01% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.44% to close at 11992.5 while the SENSEX has declined 0.39% to close at 40894.38 today.
