Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 3.21%

Nifty Media index ended up 3.21% at 2544.6 today. The index has added 16.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd jumped 6.03%, TV18 Broadcast Ltd gained 5.80% and Den Networks Ltd added 4.77%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 22.00% over last one year compared to the 3.87% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index increased 2.58% and Nifty Metal index added 1.78% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.66% to close at 10863.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.55% to close at 36063.81 today.
