Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index rises 7.73%

Nifty Media index closed up 7.73% at 1924.85 today. The index is up 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd gained 29.60%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd jumped 18.76% and Saregama India Ltd added 10.43%. The Nifty Media index is down 23.00% over last one year compared to the 14.55% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 2.44% and Nifty PSU Bank index added 1.44% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.11% to close at 11890.6 while the SENSEX added 0.09% to close at 40165.03 today.
