Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 1.45%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.45% at 3416.8 today. The index is up 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd gained 4.80%, National Aluminium Company Ltd dropped 2.97% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd shed 2.67%. The Nifty Metal index is up 1.00% over last one year compared to the 17.56% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index added 1.27% and Nifty IT index gained 1.24% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.10% to close at 11582.75 while the SENSEX added 0.13% to close at 38336.76 today.
