Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 1.91%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.91% at 2459.1 today. The index is down 18.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd slipped 7.15%, Welspun Corp Ltd gained 3.62% and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd dropped 2.92%. The Nifty Metal index is down 26.00% over last one year compared to the 2.20% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index is down 1.76% and Nifty Media index is down 1.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.16% to close at 10997.35 while the SENSEX added 0.27% to close at 37118.22 today.
