Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 3.61%

Nifty Metal index ended down 3.61% at 3119.6 today. The index is down 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindalco Industries Ltd shed 5.14%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd fell 4.98% and Steel Authority of India Ltd dropped 4.59%. The Nifty Metal index is down 13.00% over last one year compared to the 6.57% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index is down 2.78% and Nifty Auto index has slid 2.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.80% to close at 10782.9 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.69% to close at 35884.41 today.
