Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 3.02%

Nifty Metal index closed down 3.02% at 2628.9 today. The index has slipped 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Steel Ltd dropped 5.77%, Steel Authority of India Ltd slipped 5.45% and National Aluminium Company Ltd shed 4.10%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 4.00% over last one year compared to the 9.94% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has dropped 2.53% and Nifty PSE index has slid 1.76% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.55% to close at 12031.5 while the SENSEX has slid 0.39% to close at 40979.62 today.
