Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 3.74%, NIFTY jumps 1.84%

Nifty Metal index closed up 3.74% at 1723.8 today. The index has gained 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd added 10.22%, Hindalco Industries Ltd jumped 6.94% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd gained 5.78%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 44.00% over last one year compared to the 18.68% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index gained 3.43% and Nifty Services Sector index increased 3.02% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.84% to close at 9553.35 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.89% to close at 32720.16 today.
