Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index rises 4.16%, NIFTY jumps 1.15%

Nifty Metal index closed up 4.16% at 2520.45 today. The index is up 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, MOIL Ltd added 6.83%, Vedanta Ltd gained 6.34% and NMDC Ltd jumped 6.19%. The Nifty Metal index is down 32.00% over last one year compared to the 4.68% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 2.63% and Nifty Auto index added 2.53% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.15% to close at 11571.2 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.03% to close at 38989.74 today.
