Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index rises 2.19%

Nifty Pharma index closed up 2.19% at 8094.35 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Lupin Ltd gained 4.74%, Cipla Ltd added 3.45% and Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd rose 2.73%. The Nifty Pharma index is down 10.00% over last one year compared to the 1.08% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index is down 1.40% and Nifty Media index added 1.08% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.17% to close at 11252.15 while the SENSEX is down 0.04% to close at 37830.98 today.
