Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index gains 2.99%, NIFTY jumps 1.40%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 2.99% at 10857.55 today. The index has gained 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, RBL Bank Ltd added 8.91%, IndusInd Bank Ltd rose 6.40% and Axis Bank Ltd jumped 5.78%. The Nifty Private Bank index has fallen 36.00% over last one year compared to the 21.03% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index gained 2.52% and Nifty IT index added 2.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.40% to close at 9282.3 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.33% to close at 31743.08 today.
