Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 2.23%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 2.23% at 2941.25 today. The index has gained 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, State Bank of India shed 2.88%, Canara Bank dropped 1.61% and Indian Bank rose 1.38%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 27.00% over last one year compared to the 0.75% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index gained 0.92% and Nifty FMCG index has dropped 0.79% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.06% to close at 10530 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.12% to close at 34991.91 today.
