Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 2.46%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 2.46% at 2221.85 today. The index has slipped 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd dropped 6.31%, Punjab & Sind Bank fell 4.21% and Bank of Baroda slipped 3.81%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 24.00% over last one year compared to the 7.47% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty MNC index gained 2.36% and Nifty Consumption index increased 1.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.39% to close at 11707.9 while the SENSEX increased 0.34% to close at 39872.31 today.
