Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 4.34%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.91%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 4.34% at 2414.65 today. The index has slipped 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Canara Bank shed 6.41%, Punjab National Bank slipped 5.61% and Bank of Baroda dropped 5.01%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 23.00% over last one year compared to the 11.80% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has dropped 2.90% and Nifty Bank index is down 2.59% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 1.91% to close at 11993.05 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.90% to close at 40676.63 today.
