Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 4.87%, NIFTY Tumbles 2.04%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 4.87% at 2353.8 today. The index has slipped 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Bank shed 11.68%, Canara Bank fell 10.70% and Union Bank of India slipped 8.92%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 28.00% over last one year compared to the 6.77% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has dropped 3.10% and Nifty Commodities index has slid 2.94% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 2.04% to close at 10797.9 while the SENSEX has dropped 2.06% to close at 36562.91 today.
