Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 2.65%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.65% at 2880.8 today. The index has slipped 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Punjab National Bank added 5.94%, Canara Bank rose 2.99% and Bank of Baroda gained 2.93%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 24.00% over last one year compared to the 2.20% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index gained 2.48% and Nifty Media index gained 1.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.58% to close at 10549.15 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.54% to close at 35150.01 today.
