Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 2.94% at 2151.75 today. The index has lost 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India fell 4.01%, Bank of Baroda dropped 3.57% and Punjab National Bank shed 3.42%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 24.00% over last one year compared to the 7.40% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index has slid 2.82% and Nifty Bank index has dropped 2.68% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.70% to close at 11234.55 while the SENSEX has declined 0.78% to close at 37880.4 today.
