Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index registers a drop of 5.44%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 5.44% at 2890 today. The index has lost 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda fell 16.38%, Union Bank of India dropped 9.05% and Indian Bank shed 8.68%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 12.00% over last one year compared to the 11.09% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 3.05% and Nifty Media index has dropped 1.97% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.87% to close at 11278.9 while the SENSEX has declined 0.78% to close at 37290.67 today.
