Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 2.61%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.61% at 3323.6 today. The index is up 20.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Bank gained 3.35%, State Bank of India jumped 3.09% and Union Bank of India added 2.55%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is down 8.00% over last one year compared to the 13.12% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index is down 0.97% and Nifty Energy index increased 0.75% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.23% to close at 11387.1 while the SENSEX added 0.36% to close at 37691.89 today.
