Quick Wrap: Nifty Realty Index rises 2.42%

Nifty Realty index closed up 2.42% at 237.1 today. The index is down 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Unitech Ltd gained 9.26%, Godrej Properties Ltd jumped 5.89% and Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd rose 4.79%. The Nifty Realty index is down 13.00% over last one year compared to the 11.98% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index is down 1.88% and Nifty IT index has slid 1.86% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.12% to close at 11053.8 while the SENSEX is down 0.30% to close at 36542.27 today.
