Rupee gains

At 60.06/07 per dollar

Rupee closed higher at 60.06/07 per dollar on Thursday (08 May 2014), versus its previous close of 60.13/14 per dollar on Wednesday.

The gain is due to corporate dollar sales and slight gains in domestic shares, but good greenback demand from oil firms and caution ahead of the election outcome next week limited further gains.
