Tata Communications drops after two bulk deals

Tata Communications lost 1.18% to Rs 158.80 at 12:10 IST on BSE after two block deals aggregating 10.01 lakh shares were executed on BSE at 10:58 IST.

A block deal of 2.85 lakh shares was executed at Rs 158 per share. Another block deal of 7.16 lakh shares was executed at Rs 157.90 per share. The two block deals constitute 0.35% of Tata Communications' equity.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 76.25 points or 0.38% at 20,014.43.

On BSE, 10.33 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 46,079 shares in the past one quarter.

 

The stock hit a high of Rs 160.55 and a low of Rs 156.60 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 148.30 on 27 June 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 266.35 on 26 July 2012.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 24 July 2013, falling 3.31% compared with the Sensex's 8.36% jump. The scrip had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, sliding 28.66% as against Sensex's 4.75% rise.

The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 285 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

On a consolidated basis, Tata Communications reported a net loss of Rs 5.20 crore in Q4 March 2013, lower than net loss of Rs 260.94 crore in Q4 March 2012. Net sales rose 11.1% to Rs 4400.46 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012. The company unveils Q1 June 2013 results on 26 July 2013.
