14-year-old raped, killed in Rajasthan

A 14-year-old girl was raped and killed in Rajasthan's Sikar district and her body thrown into a well, police said Thursday.

Circle Officer Dilip Kumar said the girl's body was found in the well Thursday near Patan town in Sikar's Neem Ka Thana area, some 150 km from Jaipur.

The girl, a class 9 student, went missing when she was returning from the school. Her bag was spotted near the well following which the search began, the officer said.

The body had a stole wrapped around the neck and a heavy stone was tied to it. Prima facie it seems that the girl was raped also, he said.

 

Police have rounded up a few suspects and they are being interrogated.
