Afghan president's cousin killed in Kandahar bombing

Afghan President Hamid Karzai's cousin Hashmat Khalil Karzai was killed Tuesday in a suicide bomb attack in southern Kandahar province, an official said.
"The attacker was among visitors of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival. He made his way into Khalil Karzai's house. He detonated explosives hidden in his turban after approaching Karzai," the official told Xinhua.
The blast occurred at 10.00 a.m., the official said.
The exact number of casualties remained unknown, the official added.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
Khalil Karzai was a winner in 2014 provincial council election.
He was also the campaign manager of Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, a presidential candidate.
