Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Afzal Amanullah Thursday took charge as the secretary in the union parliamentary affairs ministry.
Prior to the appointment, he was special secretary in the consumer affairs, food and public distribution ministry.
A 1979 batch IAS officer, Amanullah has also served in the information and broadcasting ministry.
