Amit Shah in Ahmedabad, Modi reaches Tuesday

BJP president Amit Shah arrived to a roaring welcome from party activists here Monday, a day before Narendra Modi will make his first visit to Gujarat since becoming the prime minister.
A large number of Bharatiya Janata Party supporters welcomed Shah at the airport, where a special dome is being raised for Modi to address party workers on his arrival Tuesday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping reaches Gujarat Wednesday, which is Modi's birthday.
This is the first time any head of government will begin his state visit to India from Ahmedabad.
Modi was Gujarat chief minister from 2001 until he became prime minister in May.
