Security forces on Sunday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in a forest area in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
Based on inputs from local sources about the arms and ammunition, army personnel from the Talwara-based Rashtriya Rifles conducted a joint search operation with police and recovered the cache in the Panasa forest, defence spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told IANS.
The security forces conducted a thorough search of the entire forest area.
The cache, found in a natural hideout, include one AK-56 rifle, four magazines of AK-56, one pistol and a magazine, one rocket propelled grenade launcher, 46 cartridges of AK-56, and a hand-held radio set.
