Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday said army tech warriors will be in the forefront for sustenance of modern weapons systems.
"Future battle space will be dominated by guided missiles, artificial intelligence, unmanned platforms and network centric warfare. As can be well imagined, army tech warriors will be at the forefront for sustenance of these weapon systems," he said at the convocation ceremony of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad here.
"We live in an India which is marked by increasing economic activity, education, social growth, gender equality, urbanization and infusion of technology, all of which will bring wonderful opportunities and challenges. As techno warriors of the future, you must take responsibility of your future course and harness the opportunities," General Rawat said.
He conferred engineering degrees to 27 Officers of Degree Engineering and 40 Officers of Technical Entry Scheme Course. The 67 officers include two women officers and two officers from Rwanda.
On the sidelines of the event, the Chief of Army Staff told reporters that the Army will come up with an action plan to help soldiers disabled in the line of duty.
He said the enumeration of the disabled jawans is underway. "We will prepare the data based on the type and size of the disability and will come up with the policy to assist them accordingly, he added.

The Army chief was all praise for the 600 disabled personnel who presented a spectacular show in Pune on Thursday.
