Bangladeshi girl assaulted for rejecting proposal

A Bangladeshi girl was beaten up by several youths for rejecting a proposal for love, the media reported on Sunday.

Police have arrested two youths suspected to have been involved in the incident in Dhaka's Demra area, bdnews24 reported.

The girl's brother said she left home on Saturday afternoon and was on her way for tutoring a student.

"Several youths attacked and beat her near our home. They fled when locals rushed to her rescue," he said.

Her brother claimed a youth, Max Babu, attacked his sister because she refused to have a relationship with him. He said three others also assaulted his sister.
