Banga Beats took a 2-1 lead against Mumbai Masters in the Indian Badminton League (IBL) at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here Thursday.
In the first match, Masters' Vladimir Ivanov caused an upset by defeating Bangalore-based Beats' icon player Parupalli Kashyap 21-18, 21-18 in the first men's singles match.
Beats made a comeback when Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying caused another upset by beating Danish great Tine Baun 21-17, 21-18 in the women's singles.
However in the third match, Carsten Mogensen and Akshay Dewalkar of Beats easily overcame the Indian pair of Pranaav Chopra and Manu Attri 21-13, 21-12 in the men's doubles match to give the Bangalore-based team a 2-1 lead.
