Beyonce, Solange missed father's wedding

Pop stars Beyonce Knowles and her sister Solange skipped their father's wedding due to some previous engagements.

Beyonce, 31, who has an 18-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy, with her husband Jay-Z, and Solange, 27, did not attend Matthew Knowles wedding with former model, Gena Charmaine Avery, in Houston, Texas, last Sunday, reports tmz.com.

"Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements, which made it impossible for them to attend," Matthew said.

While Beyonce, who recently kicked off the US leg of her "The Mrs. Carter Show" world tour, was seen performing in Las Vegas the night before, she did not have a concert on the day of her father's wedding.

 

So far, the reason behind Solange's absence at the ceremony is not known.

Matthew had split from their mother, Tina Knowles, in 2009 after it was revealed that he had an affair with actress Alexsandra Wright.
