British royal baby named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

The name of Britain's Princess of Cambridge, who was born on Saturday, is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, it was announced on Monday.

Kensington Palace made the announcement two days after the princess's birth in a London hospital.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had decided on a name shortly after her birth but they wanted to inform Queen Elizabeth first before it was made public, the Daily Mail reported.

The family met the Queen on Monday in Sandringham.
