State-run Canara Bank on Saturday launched three social security schemes, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kolkata, for people across Karnataka.

"As a lead bank in Karnataka, we are offering the three social security measures of the central government through our branch network across the state," bank's executive director P.S. Rawat said at a function here.

The three schemes, also being unveiled across the country, are Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (life insurance), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (accident insurance) and Atal Pension Yojana (Pension Plan).

"We have tied up with LIC of India to offer life insurance cover and United India Insurance Company Ltd to provide insurance cover for accidental death or permanent disability," Rawat said.
