Two-time World Championships medallist Lyu Huihui of China improved her own javelin throw Asian record by 10 centimetres en route to take the top honours at the Hallesche Werfertage throws competitions here.
The 28-year-old Lyu on Saturday registered a winning mark of 67.69 metres from her last-round effort to win the women's javelin event on the opening day of the two-day annual tournament.
She beat the previous Asian record of 67.59m she set during the qualification phase of the 2017 World Championships in London, where she went on to notch a bronze medal in the final.
Christin Hussong of Germany finished second at 66.36. Kara Winger of the United States took the third place at 61.98m.
