Congress announces candidates for Rajasthan, Gujarat by-polls

Congress president Sonia Gandhi Wednesday approved the party candidates for by-elections to legislative assemblies of Rajasthan and Gujarat, her office said.

Bajanlal Jatav and Ramnarayan will be the Congress candidates in Weir and Nasirabad assembly constituencies in Rajasthan, a statement from the Congress headquarters said.

Govabhai Ravan, Jatin Vijay Lella, Lalit Kagthara, Meraman Markhi Goria will be the candidates for the Deesa, Maninagar, Tankara and Khambalia assembly seats respectively in Gujarat.

Babubhai Vaja, Kanti Sodha Parnar, Kalidas Parnar, Chhatrasinh Meda have been given tickets for Mangrol, Anand, Matar and Limkheda assembly constituencies in Gujarat, the statement added.
