A young woman who killed her mother because she did not want to dump her woman teacher with whom she had developed intimacy was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
Rashmi Rana, 20, and her teacher Nisha Gautam were caught from the Ghaziabad railway station, Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar said. Both were later sent to judicial custody.
The police said that on March 9, Satish Kumar of Kavi Nagar lodged a complaint alleging that his daughter Rashmi and her teacher killed his wife Pushpa Devi by hitting her head with an iron rod.
Rashmi confessed that she was living with her teacher but her mother did not approve of the relationship.
"But she (Rashmi) did not want to leave her teacher. So in a fit of anger, she hit her due to which she (mother) died," the officer said.
