Delhi cop suspended

A Delhi police sub-inspector was placed under suspension here for dereliction of duty, an officer said Thursday. He is also facing allegations of rape.

"Uttam Kumar, posted at I.P. Estate police station has been suspended as he was found involved in a criminal case in northeast Delhi," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar.

Police sources said a rape case was registered against Uttam Kumar a few days back. He also remained absent from office without informing his seniors.
