Delhi gets rains, more expected Thursday

Several parts of Delhi got rains Wednesday although it had no effect on the day's maximum temperature which settled three notches above average at 37.1 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast more rains Thursday.

"The skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow (Thursday), and light showers are expected in some parts of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius.

The city received a total of 19.2 mm of rainfall from Wednesday 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The minimum temperature settled at 26.3 degrees, a notch below average, while the maximum humidity was recorded at 95 percent.

 

According to IMD, the capital has recorded a total rainfall of 405.9 mm this year.

Tuesday's maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 35.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was a notch below the season's average at 26 degrees Celsius.
