The weather in the national capital on Saturday ended on a warm note with the maximum temperature being recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius - three notches above the season's average.
The Met office forecast a cloudy Sunday with light rain in some parts of the city.
"The weekend will be cloudy and the city will receive light rainfall in the evening," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
"The maximum and the minimum temperatures on Sunday are likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius."
The minimum temperature on Saturday settled at 17.6 degrees Celsius, normal for the season's average.
Friday's maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius - four notches above the season's average while the minimum settled at 21 degrees Celsius - three notches above the season's average.
