DMK president M.Karunanidhi on Monday said his party will not keep out the Congress while inviting other political parties for forming a coalition to fight the ensuing Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Responding to a reporter's question whether he would also invite Congress as he had invited DMDK to form an alliance, Karunanidhi said: "When inviting parties for a coalition we will not keep out Congress."

The DMK did not align with the Congress while fighting the 2014 general elections charging later of being anti-Sri Lankan Tamil.

The DMK walked out of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, expressing its dissatisfaction at the way it was handling the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
